So many of my friends look forward to summer. They love the hot temperatures here in the south accompanied by long pool days. I enjoy summer because I love the extra time with the kids and the more lenient schedules, but my favorite season by far is fall (also known by me as sweater weather!). In autumn, the temperatures are cooler and these pesky bugs are gone, making outdoor time much more enjoyable. While I find my most active outdoor time to be the fall, I know that not everyone feels that way. If you are struggling with ideas on how to get in quality outdoor times combined with cooler temps, here are 5 Outdoor Activities to Stay Active in the Fall.
Stay hydrated during outdoor activities with Honest® Tea. Honest® Tea, available in glass or plastic/PET bottles is organic, fair trade, and comes in several tasty flavors. Find them at a local Kroger store near you.
#1 Corn maze – A corn maze is fun for kids and adults alike. Research corn maze activities in your area. Some in my area are huge and take a while to complete, equaling to plenty of exercise and fresh air. If in a large group or with friends, increase the heart rate more by having a race to the finish line!
#2 Pumpkin patch – Wandering around a pumpkin patch is a fun fall activity. For maximum exercise, skip the hayride to the patch and enjoy the walk in the crisp autumn air.
#3 Fall hiking – Hiking in the summer can be brutal (unless there’s a fun river to splash in at the end of the trail!). Fall is the perfect time to experience those trails that you have been saving for that perfect day.
#4 Apple picking – Do you live near an apple orchard? We have several that are an hour or less away in our area. Head to pick your own apples. It is great exercise, and you are left with a healthy treat to take home for later.
#5 Raking leaves/outdoor work – Outdoor work is more fun as a family, right? Kids enjoy raking leaves and, of course, jumping in them afterwards. Autumn is a great time to complete any outdoor work that you may have been putting off until cooler temps. Maybe plan an afternoon of prepping your yard for winter followed by a visit to the corn maze afterwards for an extra outdoorsy day!
Pomegranate Blue Flavored Blue Tea is my favorite Honest® Tea variety. The plastic/PET bottles are great for throwing in my pack for outdoor activities while the glass ones are perfect for enjoying on the front porch at home.
September is National Organic Month, and Kroger stores are celebrating with special pricing on PET Honest® Tea bottles (4 for $5) until 10/24/18. Find them at your local Kroger or Kroger banner store!
Fall is the perfect time of year to be active. I can’t wait for the humidity to be replaced with crisp air!
Yum, I’ve always liked Honest T.
These are some great activities. We sometimes do some of them if we have the extra funds. We do the outdoor work though, that’s for sure. We get lots of leaves!
We do all of these different things from apple picking, pumpkin patch and corn maze. We love going on those long fall walks a well.
Where I live it is super hot in the summer so we can’t wait for the fall to come. I love to going to different working farms or taking a nice hike in the crisp air! There’s so much to do in the fall. I love a lot of your suggestions here too.
These are great ideas. I think this year I will take the family apple picking, we have not been in years. I definitely could use the exercise and it would be nice to do together.
I want to do all of these things with my husband this year and next year, do it with our little man due at the end of December!!
We actually went apple picking last week. It’s a family tradition for us. We head to a local town known for their apples.
I love hiking in the fall when all the leaves are changing colour and the air is fresh and crisp. I should really go to a corn maze!
I have always wanted to go to a corn maze!! Is it weird that I have never been to one before?? Adding it to my fall bucket list now!
Fall farm visits to the pumpkin patch are a favorite of my family too. You can’t beat fresh fall apples!
These look so good to me. They look like they would quench your thirst and taste delicious, all at the same time!
These are wonderful tips. I haven’t had Honest Tea in so long. It would be perfect to take along with me during my fall hike.
I just love all the fun fall activities!! It’s still so hot in Florida, but we actually took a little trip north to get in some of our fall faves! Honest Tea is the perfect take-along!
This is indeed a great refreshment especially during summer season. I have never tried this one but I guess I will be first pick the Moroccan Mint green tea flavour.
Love….I need to try honest T…❤️
I love all of these ideas. We went to a corn maze years ago in Vermont and I absolutely loved it!
AS long as I am outside in the fall, then I do not care what I am doing. The weather is too nice to be cooped up.
Every year in the Fall, we take our kids apple-picking in a beautiful farm here in Northern Virginia. We all love it and it’s nice that we could always take home caramel apples and apple cider on our way out 😉
