I’m excited to be participating in this special Dr. Seuss Craft Lightning week! Partially because my little one is at the age where she thinks Dr. Seuss books are a hoot, and party because Craft Lightning is right up my alley. Fifteen minutes to concentrate on a craft is about all you’re going to squeeze out of me at this time in my life. If you’re not familiar with Craft Lightning, it’s an awesome challenge for bloggers to create crafts that can be completed in 15 minutes or less. These 15 Minute Dr. Seuss Party Hats definitely fall into that category. They are perfect if you’re planning a special Dr. Seuss themed week!
Supplies:
- Red Party Hats (I bought mine at the Dollar Store.)
- Blue Plastic Leis (another Dollar Store find!)
- White Paper
- Pen
- Hot Glue and Hot glue gun
- Scissors
Begin with the white paper. Write “Thing 1” and “Thing 2” on the paper, then cut them out into circles.
Use the hot glue gun and glue the circles to the front centers of the party hats.
Apply a dab of hot glue to the back center edge of the party hat and immediately press the lei to the glue. I do have a couple warnings for you on this step. The plastic lei WILL MELT if the glue gun touches it. So only apply the glue to the hat, then press the lei to the glue. Do this around the hat in small sections. Secondly, do not cut the lei until the entire edge of the hat has been covered. The lei will try to fall apart once cut, so leave the cutting to the end.
Done in 15 minutes or less! Are you a preschool teacher? This is a quick enough project to make for the entire class!
